John Garrow, a veteran of The War of 1812, moves to New Orleans with the hopes of building a more stable future with his family amid the uncertain turmoil of a budding nation. But new growth is difficult among the tangled vines of old-world interests, and aspirations can even prove fatal. John Garrow must pit himself against man, nature, and maybe even the supernatural if he’s to carve out a new life and overcome the challenges that await on the fringes of civilization.
