About CAEV, the Company

The ‘Stari Most’, or ‘Old Bridge’ in Mostar, Bosnia

It all began with a simple idea. “What I’d really like to do someday is build an entertainment company. I think that would be incredible.” I uttered these words in a Hotel in Mostar, Bosnia while traveling and working. Three years later, in 2024, Capitaine Ahab Entertainment Ventures (CAEV) was born out of a strong desire to exercise creativity, and marry that desire with entrepreneurial acumen that would build a lasting entertainment institution.

Ahab Ventures strives to place its creative mission first, believing that capitalization comes downstream from successful creative expression, and not the other way around. It’s Disney and Travel meets Horror and Adventure. It’s the cross pollination of genres with the primary goal of entertaining and delighting. Horror for horror’s sake. Adventure for the sense of wonder it brings.  Stories told in shades of grey for the purpose of exploration, not purpose driven narratives. To make children’s books that have the same timeless, and perhaps bittersweet, appeal to both children and parents as the classics. Once upon a time, fiction was fun. And THAT is the intention and mission of Ahab. Authenticity and fun in fiction, with a touch of classical charm. To craft stories that are timeless, not topical. And more than anything, simply to make…

Just. A good. Story.

I was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and grew up in Detroit, Michigan. I’ve lived and worked in Detroit, New Orleans, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, Houston, Dallas, Beijing and Shanghai. I hold multiple professional degrees and multiple professional licenses, and have worked as a lawyer for almost a decade. For years, I was the General Counsel of an international software as a service company building and managing their legal strategy and program at the bleeding edge of tech, as well as multi-jurisdictional and international regulation. During that time, I was also a digital nomad, working remotely and traveling the world.

Growing up, I had a passion for classical art, novels, and movies. This passion was rediscovered during my legal career, and on a whim I wanted to see if I could rekindle that passion into something that I myself could manifest. In a year, I was able to write and self-publish two novels, three children’s books, and plotted a course to build a business with ideas for much, much more. Ultimately, I hope to grow Ahab into a multi-media entertainment company. For now, I hope to continue to write books that recapture classical magic in new ways using my experiences in travel and life as the basis for inspiration, to entertain and inspire others.
